What is French country rustic?

Last month I shared Boho Chic as my of my favorite interior style, and talked about romantic as one of its aspects. Well, speaking of romantic interior style, French Country is probably by far the most romantic interior style in my opinion.

French country interior style, sometimes also referred as french country rustic, due to the vintage (inspired) furnitures and their beautiful patina. I like rustic, but I’m not attracted to some rustic space that is not too bulky or masculine. This style just has the right amount of rustic-ness, also in the right style. With its rustic-ness, it feels lived-in, relaxed and cozy. It also tend to appear more classic and timeless, thanks to the usage of vintage pieces. As thought the space has been there for centuries, and can stay in style for another century and probably more.

Beautiful French country interior spaces

Here are some of my favorite spaces within this style. I’m so fascinated with the aged wood textures, use of grays, and the combination of  pale French blues and blush pink colors.

How it inspired my home design

The honest truth is, I don’t know exactly what my home’s interior style is. But one thing for sure is that French country style has influenced my taste in certain ways.

For my home, U like to use gray paint, and combine with other muted colors, such as blue. I also like to add worn-off texture to add patina to my space. I know my space cannot stay new forever, so why not embrace the wear and tear, and be proud of the patina.
